Cay Freeman, a special education math interventionist, has taught students with special learning needs for 30 years at Sage Park Middle School in Windsor. Freeman is a finalist for the 2011 Connecticut Teacher of the Year, and the 2014 CT Association of Schools Exemplary Middle Level Educator. She is a Core Advocate with Student Achievement Partners and has made numerous presentations on the changes the Common Core Math Standards have brought to her teaching. Freeman has worked with teachers across the country on how to change their instructional practice to reflect the shifts in the new math standards. Cay is a believer in the use of technology to make learning more accessible and more engaging to all students.
